Pray and Walk Away from Turmoil and the Storm

Pray and Walk Away from Turmoil and the Storm

An encouraging message— Pray and Walk Away from turmoil and the storm.

I apologize for not writing much in the last few weeks. 2024 was a difficult year and I think I prayed more in 2024 than  I have all the years that I have been following God.  It seemed like I had fires and storms going all at one time and back to back.  Friends and family were going through things and I was praying for them.  Countries, cities,  states, the election— I was praying for them, and it seemed very overwhelming.
When you are trying to help people, sometimes you look up and you’re in the storm, in the eye of the storm, which means the storm is all around you. There were times when I felt like.. how is this going to end? How am I going to get out of this? What am I going to do? What I did is what I know which is how to do is pray and have others pray for me. Sometimes it was very humbling because I didn’t really want to  ask for prayer. How is the person that is always praying for other people finding themselves that they need just as much prayer as the people that she’s praying for?!! I realize that in a sense that’s a sense of pride and I just need to ask for prayer. It was so bad that I was even leaving the state to get some spiritual and emotional relief which ended up being a great blessing. I’m so thankful because my home is my peaceful place. I can have a bad day. People can attack me, but I can go home to a peaceful place with my cats.

Watching the fires, I’m realizing that  people have no home to go to where that may have been their peaceful place. They don’t have it anymore. Where will they go? What will they do? God is peace. One of  the fruits of the spirit is peace. There were times when I didn’t have peace at home, and I had to have other people pray for me, and I listened to gospel music to encourage myself. The people who lost their homes are going to have to find peace within God, within family, which might not be blood family,  and with the community.  We are going to have to help people and  pray for them. We might even have to feed them and give them shelter. It is unfortunate that we have to go through tragedy to come together to help each other.  Now is not the time to point fingers at who is the blame or  how it could have changed because they’re still in the storm. They’re still fighting. It’s not fair and it’s not right.
My pastor in Michigan Bishop, Keith A Butler, would always tell us we can’t put our faith in man and stuff and we would say “Amen. Amen”. But when you really don’t have anything, your business is gone, your house is gone,  everything that you own is gone, then what do you have? Well, some people might not like the answer that I’m about to give but you still have God that still loves you and we have to think about the fact that you’re still alive means you still have purpose and you must still go on.  It’s not going to be easy but you have to put your trust in the Lord because he’s the only one that can get you through the storm and get you into safety and back into your peaceful place. I haven’t been through a physical fire. Thank God but I’ve been through spiritual and  emotional fires and this is how I got through it. I prayed and I fasted and I praised God even though I didn’t feel like it. I listened to scriptures and praise music on YouTube. I had other people pray for me. Even though I didn’t see a way out and before I knew it, the storm was gone and God took care of it and I was better off than I was before. If you are in the LA area and California, we are praying for you and God will take care of you. Trust God, pray and walk away. #prayandwalkaway

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!
